It’s the biggest music festival in the land – the Big Day Out. Yesterday, media outlets across the country were ablaze with the news of a supposed ‘leaked’ line-up, but this morning organisers officially revealed their first announcement for Australia’s best-loved travelling festival.

Headed to Australia in January to headline proceeding are Devon trio Muse, who just hit the number one position with their latest chart-topper, The Resistance. Lily Allen meanwhile will return to our shores, proving she’s not giving up the music game at all, while fellow Brits Kasabian, Dizzee Rascal and Groove Armada will also make an appearance. Leading to the Australian artists is Brisbane rockers Powderfinger, who’ll drop their brand new album, Golden Rule, in November Joining them are Aussies Eskimo Joe, Grinspoon, Magic Dirt and more.

The Big Day Out 2010 first line-up is:

Muse, Powderfinger, Lily Allen, Eskimo Joe, Groove Armada, Grinspoon, The Mars Volta, Ladyhawke, Dizzee Rascal, Karnivool, Peaches, Girl Talk, The Temper Trap, Kasabian, Midnight Juggernauts, Rise Against, Magic Dirt, Mastodon, Lisa Mitchell, The Horrors, Bluejuice, Calvin Harris, Kisschasy, The Decemberists, Tame Impala.
