The summer festival season just keeps on getting bigger, with today’s line-up announcement of the 2010 St Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
Organisers of the inner-city event – which sprung to life five years ago as a one-stage gig in Melbourne’s St Jerome’s Laneway, before spreading its wings to go national – have compiled their biggest bill ever for 2010. They’ve also added an inaugural New Zealand date.
Headlining Laneway this summer is none other than legendary British post-punk outfit Echo & The Bunnymen, who’ll be joined by some of the hottest new names on the music scene – including four other artists who’ve never toured Australia before. Organisers have also upped the ante when it comes to the festival’s various locations, answering criticism over 2009’s shows (venues deemed way too small by many punters) to find new, green-friendly sites.
The line-up for the 2010 St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is:

Florence & the Machine,
Black Lips, the XX,
Daniel Johnston (no Adelaide),
