The Boss, aka New Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen, has been forced to cancel shows after the unexpected death of his cousin, who was also his assistant road manager.

The roadie’s body was discovered in the Intercontinental Hotel in Kansas City two days ago, shortly before the “Born In The USA” 59-year-old singer was due to take to the stage at a nearby gig with regular outfit the E Street Band.

“Lenny Sullivan, Bruce’s cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last 10 years, passed away today at the age of 36,” a statement on Springsteen’s website reads. “A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family.”

At this stage, police say the death isn’t suspicious. Springsteen is still scheduled to appear at tomorrow’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concert at Madison Square Garden in New York.
