Grammy-nominated British electro pop outfit
Hot Chip have announced plans for the release of their fourth LP, One Life Stand, which is due to hit on Friday 5 February.
The “Ready For The Floor” five-piece recorded their latest longplayer in London, with singer Alexis Taylor telling the NME that the record will be “a bit calmer this time” than it’s precursor, 2007’s Made In The Dark. According to Taylor, it’s “more mid-tempo and disco influenced”. Influences include the burgeoning UK funky scene to soul music, modern R&B, gospel, house and more. The first single from the album is still being decided, but Taylor says he’s hoping for “I Feel Better”. “That’s the most anthemic-sounding one,” he says. “A big, massive Euro club sounding track.”
The tracklisting for One Life Stand is: “Thieves In The Night”, “Hand Me Down Your Love”, “I Feel Better”, “One Life Stand”, “Brothers”, “Slush”, “Alley Cats”, “We Have Love”, “Keep Quiet”, “Take It In”.
