Currently reigning the pop world (even Madonna’s a fan, taking her 14-year-old daughter, Lourdes, to a recent concert), New York singer Lady Gaga was always destined to become famous, claims her best friend.

DJ Lady Starlight (who accompanies her pal Gaga – aka Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – on tour and DJs as part of the gigs) says that even though she’s ten years older than her famous mate, it was glaringly apparent the 23-year-old “Poker Face” singer was going to be famous from the moment they met.

“It was obvious even then that Gaga was going to be famous. She was incredibly focused on exactly what she wanted to do,” Starlight says, the DJ first meeting Gaga at the star’s 20th birthday party. According to Starlight, the young wannabe was already well over partying and focused on her career at a young age. “I know she s talked about doing lots of drugs but by the time we met she had stopped all that,” the DJ says. “She didn't even have time for boyfriends.”

Famous for her outrageous costumes, Gaga (and Starlight) began fashioning out-there outfits when they first started performing together three years ago. “We were very creative but the outfits were often stuck together with glue,” Starlight remembers. “Sometimes they fell apart when we were on stage.”

Gaga recently collaborated with Beyoncé on the track “Video Phone”.
