“Brown Eyed Girl” singer Van Morrison has welcomed the arrival of a baby boy. It’s the knighted Irish singer’s second child, arriving a mere 39 years after his first-born daughter, singer/songwriter Shana Morrison.

“Gigi [Lee] and Van Morrison are proud to announce the birth of their first born son, George Ivan Morrison III,” read a note on Morrison’s website. The Belfast born singer’s latest offspring is “the spitting image of his daddy” apparently, with his mother also Morrison’s manager and executive producer of his recent “‘Astral Weeks’ Live at the Hollywood Bowl” concert DVD. The new bub will be a duel citizen of Northern Ireland/UK and the USA.

‘Van The Man’ is, of course, famous for a 45 year-long career, spanning such hits as “Gloria” and “Moondance”. His most recent LP was 2008’s Keep It Simple, the musician’s 33rd studio album.
