Fans waiting to hear new tunes from Florida nu-metal group
Limp Bizkit – who are reuniting after seven years after their last disc, 2003’s Results My Vary – should get prepared, warns guitarist Wes Borland.
According to the 35-year-old muso, while the “haters” of the Fred Durst-led “Nookie” outfit will continue to dislike the band for their upcoming LP, Gold Cobra, the new direction sees the
Bizkit being influenced by none other than French electro duo
Daft Punk.
“I think that everyone who hated
Limp Bizkit before will continue to hate
Limp Bizkit,” Borland told Guitar Edge magazine. “It’s not like we all of a sudden grew up and started making smarter music. It’s definitely a fun party kinda vibe, it’s a little like the old stuff but with a
Daft Punk vibe thrown in. There’s big huge riffs and hopefully catchy lyrics, it’s still about halfway done so we’re waiting to see how the rest of it goes.”
Borland famously left the band – twice – after growing unsatisfied with its musical direction. Gold Cobra is due out mid 2010.
