?Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan says that’s there’s no truth in the speculation that he’s dating blonde bombshell Jessica Simpson, despite media reports since November insisting that the odd pair are a hot new couple.
The 42-year-old “1979” singer, who is currently working on new material, says that the rumour mongering over the supposed romance was like “being in a cartoon”.
“The stuff that I’ve seen doesn’t have any bearing to the reality that I’m in,” Corgan says. “It’s like being in a cartoon. It has nothing to do with what’s really going on or how I feel.”
The rocker claims that Simpson initially got in touch to ask him to work on a new theme song for her brand new TV series, titled “The Price Of Beauty”. Simpson was recently the target of John Mayer’s controversial Playboy interview, where her former ex described her as being like “crack cocaine” to him, due to her sexuality.
“I ended up writing part of the theme song,” Corgan told “Access Hollywood”. “She asked me to help her out. It has a little bit of an alternative rock edge, but it’s still very poppy.”
