[Source: NME.com] Green Day have begun work on their new album, according to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.
Despite the trio’s last album 21st Century Breakdown only coming out in May 2009, Armstrong said the band started working on new material during downtime on their European tour last October.
He added that they want the as-yet-untitled new record to be finished quicker than 21st Century Breakdown, which came five years after the band’s previous album American Idiot.
“We did some demos in Berlin, some in Stockholm, some just outside of Glasgow and some in Amsterdam,” Armstrong told Kerrang!. “We wanted to get [the new songs] down in some early form.”
Green Day are also set to launch their own Rock Band game later this year.
