There’s explosive new claims in the ongoing investigation over pop star Michael Jackson, who died as a result of cardiac arrest back in June 2009. New documents obtained by media outlet the Associated Press have revealed that Dr. Conrad Murray, the “Thriller” star’s private physician, has been accused of halting CPR proceedings in an attempt to collect drug vials at the scene, before calling an ambulance.
According to a new interview with Alberto Alvarez, the 50-year-old star’s “logistics director”, after rushing to Jackson’s bedroom on the night of his death he saw an IV attached to his employer’s leg. Murray was performing CPR, with no signs of response from Jackson. Two of Jackson’s children, Prince and Paris, came in to the room before being rushed away by a nanny. Alvarez claims that, later at the hospital, Conrad asked him to return home and get rid of some cream, “so the world wouldn’t find out about it”... amongst other allegations.
Murray’s lawyer, Ed Chernoff, says Alvarez’s latest interview contradicts what he told police twice previously, never before making any mention of being asked to clear away medicines. “He didn’t say any of those things, then two months later, all of a sudden, the doc is throwing bottles into the bag,” Chernoff says. “Alvarez’s statement is inconsistent with his previous statement. We will deal with that at trial.”
Dr. Murray is facing involuntary manslaughter charges over the 50-year-old star’s death. The Los Angeles coroner ruled the pop icon’s death a homicide due to overdose of anaesthetic Propenol and two other sedatives.
