[Source: NME.com] The convicted murderer of the former manager of the Ramones has been sentenced to “27 years to life” in prison.

Natavia Lowery, who was found guilty of killing Linda Stein in February, was alleged to have used a piece of exercise equipment to club her former boss to death.  As previously reported, Lowery is said to have stolen AUS$33,178 from Stein in 2007, before bludgeoning her to death in an attempt to hide the theft.

In closing, a judge called Lowery “almost inhuman”, but despite the claims the 28-year old has announced her intentions to appeal the sentence, reports the Huffington Post.

As well as managing the Ramones up until 1980, Linda, the ex-wife of the Sire Records supremo Seymour Stein, was also responsible for looking after the likes of Madonna and Sting.

Her body was found in her Manhattan apartment in October 2007, having suffered multiple blows to both the head and neck. Lawyers defending Lowery – who at first denied any knowledge of the incident before handing over a videotaped account of the murder – stated that the police had forced their client into a false confession, but failed to convince the jury.
