They’re responsible for one of the most famous rock & roll songs ever to be released in the USA – ”Hotel California” – while they also hold records for being one of the highest-selling acts in the world. Now Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, better known to fans as the Eagles, are headed back to Australia at the start of summer.

It’s the first time the Eagles have toured Australian in six years. The band originally got their start when session musicians Frey and Henley were brought together to work with ‘You’re Not Good’ singer Linda Ronstadt, back in 1971.

Over the decades they’ve written some of the most popular radio songs  of all time, including ‘Desperado’, ‘Take It Easy’ and, of course, ‘Hotel California’. Back in 2004, The Age newspaper described one of their five, sold-out Melbourne arena shows as “the most comfortable form of rock – pure, unadulterated nostalgia. And it felt pretty good.” The band’s most recent release, 2007’s Long Road Out Of Eden, went gold (35,000) copies on its first week of release in Australia, debuting at number one in the ARIA charts. The Eagles’ Greatest Hits 71-75 album meanwhile is the best-selling album of all time in America, with over 29 million records sold to date.

The band’s latest Australian tour with see stadium shows that last for over three albums, the Eagles performing an array of greatest hits. Tickets are available in VIP packages as well as  Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. General on sale 9am Monday 28 June. Dates are:
