Former frontman with British rock trio the Police, Sting (aka Gordon Sumner) has announced he’ll release his tenth solo album, Symphonicities, on Tuesday 13 July.

The knighted 58-year-old “We’ll Be Together” musician hasn’t just recorded your usual studio album, however. Symphonicities is set to accompany Sting’s current world tour, and features musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, as well as famed conductor Steven Mercurio.

Featuring 12 classic tunes “re-imagined” for the symphony, the new disc came together after Sting first collaborated with an orchestra back in 2008. It was after being invited to perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and then the Philadelphia Orchestra, that the award-winning “Fragile” singer found inspiration for his current tour. “Performing with both the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Philadelphia Orchestra was truly a highlight of my career,” Sting says. “I look forward to each show of the tour with undisguised glee, having a whole new palate of musical colours to work with and reinventing the songs that have been the staples of my live performances for over 30 years.”

First single from the new disc, a version of “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” is available now.

The tracklisting of Symphonicities is:

“Next To You”, “Englishman In New York”, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”, “I Hung My Head”, “You Will Be My Ain True Love”, “Roxanne”, “When We Dance”, “End Of The Game”, “I Burn For You”, We Work The Black Seam”, “She’s Too Good For Me” and  “The Pirate’s Bride”
