Late “Thriller” star Michael Jackson, who died in June 2009 from acute cardiac arrest, will be revived in a brand new multi-platform video game.
It’s not the first time Jackson has appeared in the gaming world. Back in 1989 he starred in the (by now) practically historic Moonwalker. The new project – which will see players recreating the chart-topping star’s infamous dance moves – is set to be a much more up-to-date affair, utilising ‘new motion technology’ on platforms Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
“Your goal is to dance like Michael. Do what the guy on the screen is doing and you’re there,” explained Tony Key, from gaming manufacturer Ubisoft, at a press conference this week, where the company showed off screen shots and other details. The game will use Kinect software to help players move fluidly, he said. “It’ll score you based on the quality of your performance.”
Despite coming out after his passing, the project isn’t a brand new idea, the singer involved in the creation of “Michael Jackson: The Experience” right up to his death.
Hits such as “Beat It” and “Billy Jean” will be included on the discs, with the game set to hit stores in November... just in time for Christmas.
