Summer might still be months away, but that hasn’t stopped Australia’s music promoters from getting in quicksmart on announcing some our of biggest touring events. Last week the punk-leaning Soundwave gig revealed who’ll they’ll be bringing down under for their event, while this morning the promoters of three connected event – the Falls Music and Arts Festival (held in Marion Bay, TAS and Lorne, VIC); Southbound (held in Busselton, WA) and Sunset Sounds (taking place in Brisbane, QLD) have announced their first line-up.
Making their way to Australia this December is everyone from legendary rockers like Joan Jett And the Blackhearts, to seminal hip-hop outfit Public Enemy, who’ll perform their LP Fear of a Black Planet in its entirety. Plus there’s plenty of bands of ‘the moment’ (think the National, Sleigh Bells and loads more), plus lots of hot locals (the Living End, Angus and Julia Stone etc).
With several acts shared across each festival bill, below is a list of everyone who’ll play across the three festivals (those only appearing at Falls only are marked with an asterix). Be sure to head to each festival’s respective website for further info:
