He sparked outrage from family groups when he performed a controversial slot at the 2009 American Music Awards and just missed out on taking out the top prize in the eighth season of “American Idol”. Now 28-year-old Indiana-based singer Adam Lambert is set to wow Aussie fans with brand new shows down under, as part of his ‘Glam Nation’ tour.

The “For Your Entertainment” singer, who has been forced to defend himself against homophobic critics due to being openly gay, will return to Australia with a quick series of east coast dates in October. Having just come off the back of his full-tilt, glam-pop US tour, Lambert’s latest stage show sees the singer diving into ‘60s psychadelia, ‘70s disco and ‘80s glam-goth, performing new songs as well as tracks from his debut album, For Your Entertainment, which was released back in March and has already almost reached gold status here in Australia. His hit single, “Whataya Want From Me”, was written by none other than Pink and songwriting great Max Martin, while his second single “If I Had You” also landed in the top five of the ARIA single charts.

Tickets for the three shows go on sale Monday 23 August, and dates are:

Tuesday 19 October – The Palace, Melbourne, VIC
Wednesday 20 October – Metro Theatre, Sydney, NSW
Friday 22 October – The Tivoli, Brisbane, QLD
