John Butler has revealed his new LP, Grand National, is less about him and more about the bigger picture. "It's moving more towards a universal kind of music," Butler said. "The whole thing, the way I look at the world, the way I see myself, the way I see the band, it's all becoming a bit more worldly and encompassing rather than being too specific." The album is set to drop on Saturday March 24 and was recorded with US producer Mario Caldato Jr (Beastie Boys, Beck, Jack Johnson). The band will perform the 13 new tracks at various Easter festivals in early April. "After the last ten or 12 years of doing what I do, my outlook is more open, so the palette opens as well, stylistically speaking, sound-wise, songwriting-wise," Butler said.
