The Texan star appears in three categories and will compete against her fiancé, Blake Shelton, in two major categories – Single of The Year and Video Of The Year. Shelton is nominated for his duet with Trace Adkins, “Hillbilly Bone”.

Tipped as the Best New Artists of 2010 are Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann, Chris Young and the Zac Brown Band.

There are more nominations to come, which will be announced by Lambert today on US television program Good Morning America. She will reveal nominations in five more categories including Entertainer of the Year, which was won by multi-Platinum crossover singer Taylor Swift in 2009.

The annual awards ceremony is a big night for the international country music community. This year it will be held on Wednesday 10 November and will again be hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
