Australian artist Sia, who has been touring internationally in recent months, has used Twitter and YouTube to hunt for bandmates from New York City.

Yesterday the “Clap Your Hands” singer tweeted: “if you are a good drummer/pianist in nyc, will you post a link to you playing on youtube? i'm holding virtual auditions for a US based band!”

After some responses she replied: “wow found one already. twitter is amazing! yep,trying to put together a last minute tour in the us, nov/dec, counting on feeling better!” This was followed by: “ok so now how about pianists? classical,jazz/pop trained is best...”

Yesterday Sia also tweeted to Triple J radio, indicating that she will be in her home country at the end of the year. Her message to @triplej read: “hey does anyone there wanna take a few days off over xmas and let me dj a few days over summer? i want to try out disc jockeying..” Her Australian visit will follow a November/December US tour, though she’s cancelled a handful of London and German dates throughout October. It’s unknown whether she’ll be playing shows here to highlight her new album, We Are Born, or just holidaying, but appearances at one or more of Australia’s summer festivals looks likely.
