The Irish High Court has ordered Detroit rapper Eminem (real name: Marshall Mathers) to attend a hearing and give evidence in a case about the last-minute cancellation of one of his shows. The rapper was set to perform at the legendary Slane Castle back on September 17, 2005, where historic concerts from the likes of Thin Lizzy and U2 have previously taken place. With tickets selling out in under an hour, Eminem later cancelled the date, citing exhaustion. Concert promoters MCD are seeking AU$2.53 million from various insurance companies. Now, despite the rapper's protestations, he's been ordered to appear in person to take the stand. Justice Peter Kelly argued Eminem's testimony was important and "possibly crucial" in settling the case. He insisted Ireland's constitutional mandate requires justice to be administered in public.
