The Drums' Adam Kessler has quit the band. The “Let’s Go Surfing” hit-makers confirmed that the guitarist has left the band in a post on Thedrums.com.

Last Friday 17 September, the band used its Twitter account (Twitter.com/TheDrumsForever) to direct people to it’s website for an announcement.

The website then revealed that guitarist Adam Kessler has left the band, despite being in the middle of an American tour. "There have been some questions as to recent events and we are sorry to say that Adam has left The Drums," they wrote. "Jonny, Jacob and Connor are devastated and are keeping to themselves and with friends at this time. The band are currently on the road in America. Thank you for all of the support, it means a lot."

No reason for Kessler's departure has been given, although NME says he was still playing with the band at the Reading and Leeds festivals. Contactmusic.com reports that although the “group kicked off a string of shows earlier this month, Kessler has not been present at the gigs.”
