Lady GaGa and Katy Perry have each scored five nominations for this year's MTV Europe Music Awards, after Gaga already swept up eight awards at the American MTV VMA’s, where Perry lost in several categories and went home empty-handed.
At the European awards, the pair will go head to head again in four categories - Best Pop Act, Best Song, Best Female Act and Best Video. Gaga is also up for Best Live Act, while Perry, who hosted the show last year, is up for Best World Stage performance for her fifth nomination.
Eminem is up for four nominations for Best Song, Best Male Act, Best Hip-Hop and Best Video for his Rihanna collaboration “Love The Way You Lie”.
Also in the Best Male category are Justin Bieber, Usher, Enrique Iglesias and Kanye West. Teen sensation Bieber is also up for the Best New Act award, contesting Ke$ha, B.o.B, Jason Derulo and Plan B.
Kings Of Leon have a got a nod for Best Rock act alongside Muse and Ozzy Osbourne while Gorillaz, Gossip, Paramore, Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire lead the way in the Best Alternative category.
The awards are due to take place in Madrid, Spain on Sunday 7 November.
