With yet another national touring festival upon us, 2011 is set to be one huge music year. This morning, promoters of the Future Music Festival announced the very first names heading to Australia in March for their mammoth annual event. Get your dancing shoes on!
Several of the hottest dance acts on the planet will join Future Music, including epic drum’n’bass locals Pendulum, as well as British big beat kings, the Chemical Brothers.
With a brand new album, Record Collection, out now, Mark Ronson and the Business Intl. will make their highly anticipated return to our shores, while one of our favourite visitors, UK grime king Dizzee Rascal, is guaranteed to send fans bonkers yet again.
Psychedelic New York duo MGMT will make their second visit down under in 12 months, while “rapper-meets-party-girl extraordinaire” (says her bio) Ke$ha will also take to the stage.
And that’s not all: local headliners the Presets will make a welcome return to the festival arena with a brand new live show, while Richie Hawtin (touring Australia for the first time ever with his awe inspiring Plastikman show) and Sven Vath will also be on the bill. Last but not least, the legendary Leftfield will make their first ever visit to our shores.
The entire first line-up release is: Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal, Pendulum, MGMT, Mark Ronson & the Business Intl, Ke$ha, The Presets, Leftfield, Art Vs Science, Richie Hawtin Presents Plastikman, Steve Angello, Sven Vath, Sander Van Doorn, Steve Aoki, Loco Dice, Don Diablo, Etienne De Crecy, Zane Lowe, Cosmic Gate, The Subs, Sound of Stereo, James Holroyd and more to be announced.
