The Australian music industry has celebrated their ‘night of nights’, with the 2010 ARIA Awards taking place on the forecourt of the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 8 November.
While public reaction to the outdoor, casual format of the broadcast was mixed – the ARIAs becoming a number one trending topic on Twitter, due to widespread criticism of the show’s new format and non-music guest presenters such as model Lara Bingle and Hollywood actress Carmen Electra – it rated in the sixteenth spot overall on the night.
Amidst live performances by Powderfinger, Birds Of Tokyo, Washington and more, hosts Dylan Lewis and Natalie Basingwaite handed out a slew of pointy trophies to the biggest names in the industry.
