[source: NME.com] UK fans will get the chance to jam with the likes of
The Rolling Stones, Cream and Procul Harum when the Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy Camp opens in May. The event, which takes place at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London, will see "campers" transformed from budding amateur musicians to rock stars. On Tuesday May 29, campers will also have the opportunity to perform at the birthplace of The Beatles, The Cavern Club in Liverpool. Among the rock legends taking part are former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, Jack Bruce (Cream), Gary Brooker (Procol Harum) and Spencer Davis. Previous camp counsellor and rock legend Roger Daltrey (The Who) endorsed the events wholeheartedly. "I feel quite passionate about anything that encourages people in music. It's great seeing people having fun, even though they're all of differing abilities! They all rise to the occasion – it's fantastic!" In the US, KISS singer Paul Stanley will appear at the New York camp, which runs from Friday August 31 to Monday September 3. Stanley will perform at BB King's Blues Club in the final battle of the bands competition, playing classic KISS hits with the campers. Joining him will be Ted Nugent, Scott Ian of Anthrax and Mountain. Tickets are on sale now at www.rockandrollfantasycamp.com.
