Hitting our shores next week on a promotional visit to plug their latest longplayer, Cardiology, is Maryland outfit Good Charlotte, who’ve just announced they’ll return down under for a full national tour in April 2011... their first proper visit in three years.

Led by twins Joel and Benji Madden, Good Charlotte have yielded yet another hit record with their fifth release, which hit shelves in late October. Peaking at number seven on the national ARIA Albums chart so far, first single “Like It’s Her Birthday” proved an unexpected radio hit, and is set to be followed up this month with new tune “Sex On The Radio”. The band are set to undertake a few days of self-promotion next week in Sydney and Melbourne for the new LP, including an exclusive gig for Mastercard.

Having toured here several times and co-hosted events such as the MTV Australia Awards, the band will bring along local trio Short Stack on their next live trek. The “We Dance To A Different Disco, Honey” outfit have recently scored the cover of the domestic edition of Rolling Stone magazine, in support of their new disc This Is Bat Country, out today.

Tickets for the shows go on sale Monday 22 November, with pre-sales from Thursday 18 November.

Dates are:

Friday 8 April – Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane, QLD
Saturday 9 April – Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney, NSW
