The New Zealand-born brothers responsible for the hit of Spilt Enz and Crowded House – not to mention their substantial solo careers – are enjoying the success of their latest tribute LP: He Will Have His Way: The Songs of Tim & Neil Finn.

Featuring the reworking of Finn classics by the likes of Paul Kelly, Chris Cheney, Boy & Bear, Art Vs Science, Paul Dempsey, the Sleepy Jackson and more, the new collection is the second disc to celebrate the acclaimed brothers, the first being 2005’s She Will Have Her Way. With classics like “Better Be Home Soon”, “I See Red” and “I Feel Possessed” getting a brand new treatment, the compilation is proving to be one of the most talked about releases of 2010.

“The first time I sang ‘Four Seasons In One Day’ was with Neil himself on a balmy September night during the 2000 Olympics,” remembers Paul Kelly, who teams up with Angus Stone for a new rendition. “Sydney was a city of enchantment for that fortnight, under a spell of goodwill. The song floated out of our mouths to 80,000 euphoric people assembled in the Domain. The silence of 80,000 people is a huge silence. And then came the roar of 80,000 when we were done.”

“Ten years later almost to the day,” Kelly continues, “Angus and I sang the song at Platinum studios, in the very same room where it was recorded. Just a few people listening - my daughter, the engineer and his assistant, the drummer’s girlfriend – but I got the tingles again.”
