The original girl who just wants to have fun, New York City pop icon Cyndi Lauper, is set to return to Australia in late March.
The 57-year-old ‘80s icon released her eleventh studio album, Memphis Blues, back in June 2010. On her latest disc she teams up with a swag of acclaimed blues legends – including B. B. King, Charlie Musselwhite, Ann Peebles and Allen Toussaint – covering tracks such as Robert Johnson’s seminal Crossroads.
The LP has proven a hit overseas, being her third highest charting disc on the US Billboard Album charts in her career (following 1983’s She’s So Unusual and its follow-up, True Colours).
