New Order bassist Peter Hook has formed a new band called Freebase. The 51-year-old is currently working on a debut album with the outfit and has called on a number of stars to lend a hand. Vocals on Freebase songs will be handled by the likes of Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream) and Liam Gallagher (Oasis). Meanwhile, band members include Andy Rourke (the former bassist of The Smiths), and Mani (bassist with Primal Scream and Stone Roses).
