With new album Young Modern less than two weeks away, Silverchair have become only the third band in Australian history to land three consecutive number one singles. Released digitally three weeks ago, the CD version of the band's latest single, the album's title track, debuted at the top of the ARIA charts this week. It remains at the top of ARIA's digital chart for the fourth week running. The only other Australian acts to have scored three consecutive number one hits are The Seekers and The Easybeats. Meanwhile, Silverchair will play a number of dates in support of the new album before heading to the US and UK in mid-May. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 12pm on Monday April 2.
