[Source: NME.com] The Vines are set to release their new album 'Future Primitive' on June 6.

Frontman Craig Nicholls has said that the album, which was recorded with Wolf & Cub producer Chris Colonna in early 2010, was influenced by music from the 1960s.

He told Triple J: "There are a few three and a half minute songs but more of them are around two minutes. I just like the early singles in the '60s, how they seemed to be very short."

He added: "It's kind of changed nowadays but we’re trying to bring that back, I guess."

'Future Primitive' will be the band’s fifth album, and will be the follow-up to 2008’s 'Melodia'.
