[Source: NME.com] Daft Punk's former manager has condemned Disney for the way the company put together the forthcoming remix album of the duo's Tron: Legacy soundtrack.
Busy P, who is a DJ and producer and managed the band from 1996 to 2008, posted a statement about the album on his official website, Busyp.coolcats.fr. He wrote that he was "100 percent sure Daft Punk were not involved in this side project."
The remix album, 'Tron: Legacy R3CONFIGUR3D', is due for release on April 1st. It features contributions from M83, Boyz Noise and Moby.
Busy P condemned Disney for the company chiefs' choice of remixers, writing: "A masterpiece like Tron:Legacy soundtrack deserved the best and I am sad to discover the A&R at Disney is apparently buying most of his electronic music in airports stores."
He also posted a remix by Belgian DJ Goose, which he said was rejected by Disney for the compilation. Listen to it by clicking here.
"This should have been the kind of great re-interpretation of Daft Punk’s music featured on this compilation," he said of the song.
