After receiving a knighthood, Bono now has his sights set on Hollywood. The U2 frontman has reportedly signed on for a role in Across The Universe, a film directed by Julie Taymor (who's responsible for the movie Frida and the Broadway version of The Lion King) and laced with Beatles references. Written by the team behind Irish hit The Commitments, the movie is apparently "an intense love story set in the 1960s", and follows two lovers – Jude and Lucy – from Liverpool to Vietnam via Detroit, as they explore the "counter-culture". Bono will play Dr Robert, while British comedian Eddie Izzard will portray Mr Kite. Both characters act as guides for the star-crossed lovers.
