Cult English singer-songwriter
Nick Drake may have died young – from an overdose of anti-depressants back in 1974, after just three albums – but his influence has continued across the decades. Now a new collection of tracks, Family Tree, is being released and features lo-fi, reel-to-reel recordings made by Drake just before his debut, Five Leaves Left. Due out on Tuesday June 19, the collection contains previously unreleased tracks "They're Leaving Me Behind", "Blossom" and "Come Into The Garden", plus covers by artists such as Bob Dylan, Dave Van Ronk and Jackson C. Frank. As an added bonus, the CD also contains two songs by Drake's mother, Molly, plus a family performance featuring the young singer on clarinet.
