U2's Bono and The Edge have signed on to write music for forthcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man. The singer and guitarist will team with director Julie Taymor to pen songs for the musical, which is based on the popular Marvel Comics hero. Bono and The Edge are not the only rockers to provide a soundtrack for the webbed crusader. The Killers, Flaming Lips, Snow Patrol and Yeah Yeah Yeahs are among the bands contributing to the soundtrack for the forthcoming Spider-Man 3 film. And it won't be U2's first foray into the comic book world either. In 1995, they contributed "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" to the Batman Forever soundtrack, while The Edge recorded the theme music to animated series The Batman.
