Soundwave franchise festival 'Soundwave Revolution', which was set to tour the major cities of Australia starting late September, has been cancelled.
While not giving to much away, poor ticket sales and the inability to confirm a co-headliner for already announced Van Halen were cited as reasons for the cancellation.
It seems Triple M music reporrter Nui Te Koha may have unveiled the truth: Aerosmith, the yet to be announced co-headliner, have pulled out at the last minute. Coupled with poor ticket sales, and this was the end of Soundwave Revolution.
Have no fear Soundwave Revolution lineup lovers; it looks like many of the bands will still be making the trip out to Australia, with Alice Cooper stating he wants to come and "scare the pants off of all our Aussie Sickies". Unfortunately it does not look like Van Halen will be coming to our shores now.
Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah has also announced that some of the bands secured for Soundwave Revolution may be moved on to the Soundwave 2012 lineup.
Tickets are being refunded automatically if purchased online, while tickets purchased at outlets will be available for refunds as of next week.
