[Source: NME.com] Katy Perry has equalled Michael Jackson's record for US Number One singles on an album.

The singer has hit the summit of the Billboard charts with her fifth chart topper 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)', a feat not managed since Michael Jackson released five tracks from 'Bad' which hit the top spot between 1987-88. Perry is also the first female and only living artist to achieve such a milestone.

Her third album 2010's 'Teenage Dream' has given the star chart-toppers with 'California Gurls (feat Snoop Dogg)', 'Firework', 'ET (feat Kanye West)' and the album's title track.

She also scored a sixth consecutive US Number One after the last single to be released from her 2008 record 'Waking Up In Vegas' also topped the charts.

Michael Jackson previously sent five songs to Number One including 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You', 'Bad', 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'Man In The Mirror' and 'Dirty Diana'.
