U2 frontman Bono is switching his attentions from third world poverty to education. The singer teamed with Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and other US lawmakers to add support to potential American legislation change. Bono is hoping the new laws would add more than US$10billion in education aid for millions of under-privileged children across the globe. With over 77 million kids – 38 million in Africa alone – lacking access to schooling, the U2 frontman believes the US aid will help kick-start a global effort. "The United States is just one-third of this," Bono told the assembled politicians. "Your money will be certainly doubled up and I will be working on trebling it. I think we can guarantee the double."
