[Source: NME.com] Coldplay's Chris Martin has said his band don't have a chance of beating Adele at next week's Brit Awards (February 21).

Speaking on BBC Radio 2, the frontman said he was "pretty sure" they would come off second best when they go head-to-head with the London songstress in the British Album Of The Year category.

Asked if he thought it was possible their LP 'Mylo Xyloto' could triumph over '21', he said: "Unless Adele somehow deletes her albums, I think we can come to the conclusion [that we won't win]. I'm pretty sure of it."

However, the singer did say that he and his bandmates still were grateful to be in the running for gongs, adding: "You can be one of those artists that don't really care about them or you can, like us, love it, and we're always so grateful to be included. It's a kind of Olympics for a band. It's nice to win a medal."

Adele swept the board at last weekend's Grammy Awards, taking home six prizes. She has been nominated for three Brit Awards, including Best British Album, Best British Single for 'Someone Like You' and Best British Female Solo Artist. Coldplay, meanwhile, are nominated in two categories – Best British Album and Best British Band.
