[Source: NME.com] Queen drummer Roger Taylor has ruled out the possibility that he will ever perform alongside a hologram of Freddie Mercury.
Holograms have become a major talking point ever since Tupac appeared as a hologram during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last month. You can see a picture of the hologram on the right of your screen.
Asked by Billboard whether he would consider performing alongside a hologram of Mercury, Taylor said that the idea "did not sit well" with him and that he would never appear onstage alongside one.
He said when asked if he'd consider performing alongside a hologram: "I don’t think I want to. It just doesn’t sit too well with me. I don’t want to appear with a hologram of my dear friend. It’s the real one or no hologram for me."
Taylor then went on to say that he thought holograms were "an amazing effect when used properly" and that he had "no objection" to someone else using a hologram of his friend.
He added: "I think it’s an amazing effect when used properly, obviously in darkness. Were somebody to use a hologram of Freddie, I would have no objection."
