[source: NME.com] The soundtrack to Kurt Cobain: About A Son will feature tracks from R.E.M., Iggy Pop and David Bowie, as well as several other bands that reportedly influenced the Nirvana frontman. The album, due out in the US on Tuesday September 11 via Barsuk, will also include a new song by Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard, who composed an original score for the film alongside producer Steve Fisk. Although the soundtrack will not feature any songs from Nirvana, it will feature excerpts of taped interviews with Cobain. The film, due out in late 2007, features several rare interviews with the singer, as well as footage of sites in the Pacific Northwest that played a major role in his life.
