A recent auction selling goods belonging to one of pop’s most infamous families – the Jacksons – is set to head back to court, following siblings Michael and Janet Jackson’s attempts to recover some of the goods sold. The auction took place on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 May at the Hard Rock hotel-casino in Las Vegas, with sales estimated at more than AUS$1.179 million dollars. Now the famous stars say the auction was illegal – and they want their goods back. “Per the judge’s order, we have delivered 35 items claimed by Janet Jackson and 23 items claimed by Michael Jackson, with two in transit to Las Vegas,” L. Joe Coppedge, a Las Vegas lawyer, told The Associated Press. Whether or not Universal Express Inc. of Boca Raton, Florida, was allowed to sell the goods is in contest. Just some of the contested items include Michael’s black, military coat with an “M” crest, Janet’s original certificate of her marriage to singer James DeBarge, and a piece of Australian aboriginal art given to Michael back in 1987 for his Thriller album sales.
