[source: NME.com] Public Enemy paid tribute to soul legend James Brown at the BET Awards on Tuesday June 26 with a performance of "Say It Loud (I'm Black And I'm Proud)". Flavor Flav and Chuck D also performed a medley of their own material, featuring "Fight The Power" and "911 Is A Joke". Bootsy Collins joined the pair for their tribute to Brown, who passed away late last year. Soul legend Diana Ross was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, while fellow diva Patti LaBelle performed with the O'Jays' Eddie Levert, Gladys Knight and Yolanda Adams as part of a tribute to Levert's son Gerald, who died last year. Meanwhile, Beyoncé won two awards: Best Female R&B Artist and Video Of The Year for "Irreplaceable". She was nominated in six categories.
